Dr Linda Hwang
Dr Linda Hwang graduated from the University of Otago in 2014 and founded Glow Dental in 2020. She is currently completing a postgraduate diploma in implant dentistry through the Australian College of Dental Practitioners.
Her clinical focus is on implants, surgical extractions, and complex restorative work. She completes continuing education at four times the New Zealand Dental Council requirement and has done so throughout her entire career.
Saman Afsar
Saman graduated from AUT and is dual qualified as both a dental hygienist and dental therapist. She is currently completing a postgraduate diploma in periodontology.
She is experienced in treating moderate to advanced periodontal conditions and is particularly skilled with anxious patients. Many patients who first see Saman continue to request her specifically, year after year.
Outside the clinic, she is a mother of two and, by all accounts, a very good baker.
Anna Kim
Anna graduated from AUT and joined Glow Dental’s Saturday team shortly after. She also works within a public dental service focused on children’s oral health, experience that has given her early exposure to a broad range of patients.
At Glow Dental, Anna focuses on routine hygiene appointments. She brings genuine warmth and energy to her work, and it shows in how patients respond to her.
Meet Monique
Monique, originally from the North Western Province of South Africa, relocated to New Zealand in 2022 with her partner and quickly embraced her new home, falling in love with the country and its warm, welcoming people.
As Practice Manager at Glow Dental, Monique seamlessly balances the behind-the-scenes operations that keep the practice running smoothly. But her love for patient care means she’s never far from the treatment rooms. When she’s not managing the practice, you’ll find her assisting the dental team or helping out at the front desk. A true jack of all trades, Monique thrives on being hands-on and values the personal connections she builds with patients throughout their visit.
Monique’s passion for dentistry has flourished since arriving in New Zealand. She completed her Dental Assistant Certificate in July 2024, followed by a Sedation Course Certificate in November 2024. Her gentle, caring nature ensures that every patient feels relaxed and comfortable, and she takes genuine pride in going the extra mile to brighten someone’s day.
Outside of work, Monique enjoys staying active through hiking and parkruns, and loves attending music festivals, sailing, baking, and spending time at the beach. A fun fact: her spirit animal is the Highland cow—a perfect reflection of her gentle yet resilient character.
With her dedication to both patient care and practice excellence, Monique is an invaluable member of the Glow Dental family.
Meet Katerina
Katerina brings a unique perspective to Glow Dental, having originally studied dentistry in the Czech Republic before embarking on an unconventional journey to explore the world. Her travels took her through various fields and experiences, but her passion for dentistry ultimately drew her back to where she belongs—caring for patients in a dental setting.
Now working as a dental nurse, Katerina is known for her versatility and can often be found multitasking between the front desk and assisting in the treatment rooms. Fluent in English and Czech, she brings warmth and efficiency to every interaction, ensuring patients feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.
Outside of work, Katerina loves embracing New Zealand’s stunning landscapes through outdoor sports and hiking. Her adventurous spirit and dedication to patient care make her a wonderful addition to the Glow Dental team.
Meet Nicole
Nicole is originally from South- Africa and moved to New Zealand in 2019. She is passionate about everything dentistry and is currently studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences at the University of Auckland. Nicole is an outgoing individual who will do what it takes to ensure that the patients feel comfortable and relaxed during their appointments.
In her spare time, she likes to study and enjoys being a mentor to younger students who seek confidence and motivation. The well-being of others is very important to her as she believes that happiness is a state of mind.
